The Business Communication Writing Minor requires students to obtain a writing-specific internship during spring quarter of their graduating year. This internship requirement fulfills Writing 150, a ten-week course in the Writing Program, and usually involves working with clients at an off-campus location.
Internship sites generally range from public relations firms to non-profit organizations. Students should be prepared to allocate 8-16 hours per week to their positions. A total of 2-4 units can be earned from the internship experience, depending on the total time dedicated to the employer during a single quarter.
